OUR SERVICES – HEALTH & SAFETY AUDITS

Our SHEQ advisors offer a comprehensive health, safety and environmental services to our clients in order for them to comply with all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993) and relevant regulations. Our advisory specializes in facilitating creation, implementation and maintenance of individualized HSE management plans and programs for diverse industries. We provide safety, health and environmental regulation assistance with our complete range of legally compliant programs, training and policy development plans. SHEQ advisors’ function in much the same capacity as a senior administrator or HSE manager would. We support your operations by creating policies and procedures, interfacing with industry regulation databases and implementing management programs for clients and contractors.

The safety file serves as proof of compliance to safety specifications in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and protects the employer against any potential liability. It is of utmost importance that the content of the safety file, are communicated, understood and maintained for the duration of the project.

A health and Safety Audit is an audit that focuses on some, or all aspects of health and safety. It is a review performed to determine whether health and safety regulations, other applicable legislation and company policies (and sometimes recognized good practice) are adequately implemented and complied with.

METHOD STATEMENT /SAFE WORKING PROCEDURES DEVELOPMENT :

Our SHEQ advisors perform the following risk assessments, – Baseline – Issue Based and Continuous Risk Assessments on construction sites, factories, office buildings, retail stores, warehouses etc. To ensure that safe work procedures are established and communicated to employees. SHEQ Advisors shall appoint a Risk Assessor, according to the applicable regulations, who shall be responsible to do risk assessments The identification of the risk and hazards to which persons may be exposed to. All risk assessments will be performed in accordance with relevant internal procedures as per required needs of the client.

All incidents, whether a near miss or an actual reportable event should be investigated. Near miss reporting and investigation allow you to identify and control hazards before they cause more serious incidents. Incident investigation is a tool for uncovering hazards that either were missed earlier or have managed to slip out of controls planned for them. It is useful only when done with the aim of discovering every contributing factor to the incident to “foolproof” the condition and/or activity to prevents future occurrences. In other words, your objective is to identify root causes and not just to apportion blame. Our SHEQ advisors can offer our clients this service when appointed as their consultants or when the need should arise.

A work method statement, sometimes referred to as a safe work method statement or SWMS or a safe work procedure, is a part of a workplace safety plan. It is predominately used in construction to describe a document that gives specific instructions on how to safely perform a work related task, or operate a piece of plant or equipment A work method statement is prepared for each task on a particular worksite; the group of work method statements are then packaged and included in the overall Safety Plan. This plan is typically submitted at the beginning of a project for approval by the client or their representative.
